Being Black and British is to have two identities, but people only see the Black not the British, because you can’t possibly be Black AND British. Even though Britain colonized the land I’m from, I’m still not British? Even though my Great grandparents are from the Windrush generation and came to help this “great nation” when you asked,  They’re still not British?Even though we were born and bred here, we’re still not British?  “Go back to where you came from!” but this is where I’m from. The melanin in my skin does not cancel out my Britishness, nor is it a threat to yours.
